Mountain Art Works

Mountain Art Works (MAW's) is dedicated to the culture and history of the Appalachian mountain region in and around Southwestern Virginia. Specializing in all things related to our area, we operate a theme-based restaurant featuring home-cooked food in a family-oriented atmosphere. We are located in a building that has been a gathering place for old friends and new since 1937.
Visit us for the hand crafted items we refer to as "Mountain Art." Throughout our establishment you will find a wide variety of items. Some for sale, and some a museum of our area and heritage. All a reflection of who we are. Local artists provide paintings, woodwork, furniture, afghans, quilts and clothing. From modern expresions to "old tyme."

MAWS Mountain Music: Mountain Art Works is proud to promote our mountain musical heritage by opening our stage to a Thursday Night Jam that is held throughout the year. Local musicians are encouraged to bring their instruments for an evening of picking fun and fellowship and the public is invited to enjoy an evening of bluegrass and gospel music. Some of our regular patrons are always ready to step up and assist newcomers with their first flatfoot'n steps. Entertainment is also available on most Friday and Saturday nights.

Named as an "affiliated partner" of The Crooked Road, Virginia's Heritage Music Trail. Our banner presentation was made during our 5th Anniversary Celebration on August 25, 2006. (1st Annual Mountain Homecoming)

Home of the Hatfields and McCoys, the lost Silver Mine, white water rafting and kayaking, these mountains are rich with history and recreational opportunities. Come visit us soon
