Ralph Stanley Museum and Traditional Mountain Music Center
In October of 2004, a unique museum experience became available to music lovers: The Ralph Stanley Museum and Traditional Mountain Music Center.

Combining the career of Dr. Ralph Stanley with the history of traditional mountain music, this interactive musical journey allows you to see and hear this particular style of American music in its original setting - the mountains of southwest Virginia.

Even if you've already been touched by his music, you haven't fully experienced it until you've journeyed into the heart of Appalachia.
The Ralph Stanley Museum and Traditional Mountain Music Center is located in a century-old four-story home currently under design renovation in Clintwood, Virginia.

The vision for the museum and music center is to preserve and promote mountain and Bluegrass music with workshops, seminars, and conventions.

Combining the career of Dr. Ralph Stanley with the history of traditional mountain music, this state-of-the-art, interactive museum will allow you to see and hear this particular style of American music in its original setting – the mountains of southwestern Virginia. Follow the career of Ralph Stanley through the exhibits and learn how the environment and traditional music influenced his style.
